The decisions of the Council of Ministers for the reduction of rents for the Turkish Cypriot business premises partially justify the positions and proposals of the General Assembly of POVEK, according to an announcement of the Organization.
It is noted that the General Assembly of POVEK since the beginning of the Pandemic and its financial consequences has set as a priority the issue of rents which is the main operating cost for a company. It is added that the “lock down” of March 2020 and December 2020, but also of January 2021, traffic restrictions, protocols and others are necessary measures to deal with the Pandemic, but at the same time have caused huge financial costs to companies for which they were not received. corresponding substantial support measures.
The General Assembly of POVEK, it is reported, continues the struggle and the efforts for reduction and subsidy of rents, suspension of evictions and sales, extension of installments, direct support to companies, strengthening of liquidity and access to financing for companies.
