The President made statements to the journalists coming to the 3rd Technical School, in Archangelos, on the occasion of the start of the Middle Education classes

The issues of Education are a key priority of the Government, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis said on Friday, emphasizing at the same time the importance that the Government gives to Technical Education and mentioning the decision to operate the Technical High School.

In his statements to the journalists coming to the 3rd Technical School, in Archangelos, on the occasion of the start of classes in Secondary Education, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Athina Michailidou, the President of the Republic, after wishing him a good school year, said that he chose today to be at the Technical and Vocational School of Education “because we also want to send a message about the importance we attach to Technical Education”.

“So, we consciously chose with the Minister of Education for me to be here today” , he said and added that “we will proceed with some announcements, especially in matters concerning Technical Education”.

President Christodoulidis said that he has said “many times that for our governance the issues of Education together with the issues of Health are the highest priority”, adding that this “is our obligation as a state towards the citizens of this place”.

“Education affects all sectors of government horizontally, and in particular with regard to Technical Education I want to point out the importance we attach to Technical Education, within the context of our effort to connect our education with our economy, with the labor market, to give the necessary emphasis to the issues of technology”, he underlined.

And it is within this framework, according to the President of the Republic, “that as a Government we have also decided the operation of the Technical High School in accordance with the standards of the Athletic, the Music High School and we start from the new school year, clearly placing more emphasis on our technical schools, on the standards that exist in other European states, in Germany, in the Netherlands”.

President Christodoulidis urged everyone to see the importance of Technical Schools and added that “as a government we will and are clearly giving more importance to Technical Schools”.

From there, he continued, we have already proceeded with very serious reforms , such as syllabi, student assessment, building issues and “the timing air conditioner issue”. noted.

The President of the Republic said that the Government continues “with more reforms concerning the evaluation of teachers, the digital transformation of all our schools”, adding that “we are in a technical school, so we have a strong reform program which we implement and we will proceed”.

In response to a question, the President of the Republic said that “there is already an action plan prepared by the Ministry of Education and passed by the Council of Ministers, which we will implement”.

< p>“It is an issue which, with absolute honesty, in order to deal with it successfully, we also need our own will of course, first and foremost, the cooperation of the teachers and the cooperation of the parents themselves and of course the students” , he added.

President Christodoulidis said that “it is a problem that plagues not only our country”, repeating that “we have the plan, we are implementing this plan to deal with this pathology”.
