<p>The will of his Government to take all the necessary measures to protect the name of Cyprus as a reliable business and investment center, expressed today the President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, who participates in the work of Economic Forum, in Delphi.</p>
<p>In his greeting at an Invest Cyprus event, which took place on the sidelines of the Economic Forum, the President of the Republic referred, among other things, to the strengths and comparative advantages of the Cypriot economy, stressing that despite the difficult international economic situation, its growth rates economy of Cyprus continue to increase.</p>
<p>Among other things, the President of the Republic referred to the long-term strategic plan for the economy, until 2035, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, to attract investments in sectors such as tourism, shipping and energy.</p>
<p>He also pointed out the important advantages of Cyprus as a shipping center, and highlighted the infrastructure available to Cypriot shipping.</p>
<p>As far as the tourism sector is concerned, the President of the Republic said that it is developing rapidly and attracts millions of tourists annually.</p>
<p>For the Energy sector, President Christodoulidis said that it is developing, with the discovery of significant hydrocarbon reserves, which provides opportunities for investment in the infrastructure and services sectors.</p>
<p>“Our Government has recently taken office, however it has already put in place an ambitious governance program with bold reforms aimed at expanding the productive base of the economy, fully capitalizing on research and technology utilizing the most capable human resources,” said President Christodoulidis.</p>
<p>He added that one of the main priorities of his Government is to promote a comprehensive tax reform that aims to reduce the administrative burden on consumers and businesses, while maintaining the attractiveness of the system.</p>
<p>Referring to green development, the President said that the Republic of Cyprus fully adopts the relevant EU Agreement, with the promotion of Renewable Energy Sources, adding that at the same time the Government is promoting a series of actions for the smooth digital transition, simultaneously strengthening the country's capabilities to maintain a business-friendly environment.</p>
<p>Referring to the foreign policy of Cyprus, the President of the Republic pointed out the country's strong ties with the states of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Gulf, as well as with the USA, with which Cyprus has a strategic relationship. He added, our relations with Japan have also strengthened, but also with India, which, as he said, he intends to visit in the first half of 2024, with the participation of a group of businessmen.</p>
<p>Finally, the President of the Republic said that both he personally and the Government are committed to taking the necessary actions to protect the reputation of Cyprus as a reliable business and investment center, among other things, by strengthening the supervisory framework and legislative regulations.</p>
<p>Earlier today, in Delphi, the President of the Republic had a bilateral meeting with the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, as well as with the US Ambassadors to Greece and Cyprus, who are participating in the work of the Economic Forum.</p>
