Urbanism, transport, but also the lack of incentives for young people to stay in Pretoria are the main problems facing the community authority of Pretoria, according to the President of the Community Council, Ioannis Loizou.
The issue of policing concerns many communities like ours, said Mr. Loizou, and called on the state to speed up the provision of vehicles so that young people stay in the area.
When asked about the projects in Pretoria, the community leader mentioned, among other things, the creation of the community buildings, the expansion of the courtyard of the first Primary School for the organization of events while he said that the start of the reconstruction works of the street of the central core of the community is expected.
They also proceeded, as he said, to underground the cables and are making efforts to renovate the Primary School and convert it into an energy building.
At the same time, he noted that it is difficult for people to return to Pretoria on a permanent basis due to the distance relative distance from Paphos.

Mr. Loizou noted that for the seven and a half years that he has been community leader in Pretoria since January 1, 2017, his goal has been the revitalization of the countryside. He said that the community is also known for the Palouse festival, and that's when it fills up with people. This year, he added, the festival will take place on the first Sunday of October.
A festival is also organized every August. He mentioned that the residents of Pretoria are hospitable and open their doors to every visitor, so that he leaves with the best impressions of the community.
He mentioned that Pretoria is one of the picturesque villages of the province and is located near Agios Nikolaos Paphos, Kedares and Filousa. It is a small vineyard village with small traditional houses and beautiful vines, he added.
The central church in Pretori is that of Panagia Chryseleoussa with its beautiful and tall bell tower, while there is also the chapel of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel which is located in the community cemetery.
Mr Loizou even mentioned the nearby attractions which he said are the Jelefou Bridge, Omodos and Platres about twenty minutes from Pretoria. Also continued, the Monastery of Panagia Salamiotissa which dates back to the 16th century and is located 10 kilometers from the village a quarter of the community, Panagia of Sindi, Pefkos of Pera Vasa, as well as the nearby Arminou Dam.
