Significant increase of 16.7% was recorded in January 2022 by the Producer Price Index in Industry, on an annual basis, with the largest increases recorded in the sectors of electricity supply and water supply and material recovery.
According to the Statistical Service, the Producer Price Index in Industry for January 2022 reached 117.3 points (basis 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 0.4% compared to December 2021.
In January 2022, compared to December 2021, the index increased in the sectors of water supply and materials recovery by 1.7%, manufacturing by 0.7% % of mines and la 0.3%, while there was a decrease in the electricity supply sector by 1.0%.
Moreover, according to the Statistical Service, in terms of changes compared to the corresponding month of 2021, Increases have been observed in all sectors, as follows: Electricity supply 45.7%, water supply and material recovery 32.6%, processing 8.9% and mines and quarries 4.6%.
In the manufacturing sector, in January 2022, compared to the corresponding month of 2021, increases were recorded in all economic activities, with the most important being presented in the wood industry (28.5%), in the production of basic metals and the manufacture of metal products & nbsp; (24.4%), in the manufacture of rubber and plastics products (15.0%), in the production of other non-metallic mineral products (10.5%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment ( 8.4%).
