PSEPEP: Recognition of children's problems and immediate action to eliminate them

The Pan-Cypriot Coordinating Committee for Child Protection and Welfare (PSEPEP) calls on the state to recognize the special problems of children and to act immediately to mitigate and eliminate them, noting that we must realize that children is "the present" and we must invest in them today if we really want to "have a future".

In its announcement, on the occasion of the anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, PSEPEP considers that today's anniversary should mark the beginning of a more concrete and targeted effort to implement the Rights of the Child in Cyprus, which includes and protects all children, regardless of their place of origin.

According to the PSEPEP, "Child Poverty, Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, Inequality in Education and Skills Development Opportunities, Social Exclusion, especially of vulnerable groups and non-natives, still plague the world, but unfortunately also the European Union", for to note that “Cyprus is not an exception, and in the unprecedented conditions of the pandemic, distancing, confinement and immigration, we are called to recognize with the special problems of children and to act immediately to mitigate and eliminate them».
