The President of the Republic, & nbsp; Nikos Anastasiadis received today, at the Presidential Palace, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Mrs. Margareta Cederfelt and a delegation of the Organization. & nbsp; During the meeting President Anastasiadis stressed that the Government's goal is to resolutely tackle corruption and promote transparency and accountability by consolidating the rule of law in our country.
President Anastasiadis informed Ms. Cederfelt on the policies implemented by the Republic of Cyprus in the fight against corruption, emphasizing that the Government strengthens its policy of zero tolerance by taking measures, formulating legislation to prevent and combat the phenomenon and drafting a National Anti-Corruption Strategy, within the framework of an integrated plan.

Through the passage of legislation and reforms passed in the House of Representatives, such as the & nbsp; Recommendation of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, the legislative framework for combating corruption has begun to strengthen, said the President. & nbsp;
The President of the Republic also informed Ms. Cederfelt on the Turkish challenges, but also on the initiatives he undertakes for the resumption of substantive negotiations for the settlement of the Cyprus problem.

The meeting also referred to the instrumentalization of immigration by Turkey and the President of the Republic highlighted the magnitude of the problem facing Cyprus, noting that the Republic of Cyprus is complying with all its obligations as President Anastasiadis also praised the OSCE's contribution to ensuring lasting peace and the development of cooperation between its member states.
Finally, the President of the Republic congratulated Vice President of K.S. OSCE and & nbsp; Special Representative for the fight against corruption, AKEL MP Ms. Irini Charalambidou for her initiative to be organized in Cyprus & nbsp; OSCE International Conference on Combating Corruption.
