For a "new era" in the relations of "universal partnership and strategic cooperation" which have  Russia and China are talking about the joint statement of the Presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, which was made public at the end of the official talks between the two delegations in the Kremlin and which Russian commentators describe as “of particular historical importance”. .

Russia and China make it clear that their relations are not a military-political alliance, like those of the Cold War period, but that they “go beyond this form of interstate cooperation”, while at the same time they are non-confrontational, not directed against third countries , but also "not subject to external influence".

“Russia is interested in a stable and prosperous China, while China is interested in a strong and successful Russia,” the joint statement said, underlining that relations as “priority partners” between the two countries "are a model of relations between major states in the modern world".

Putin and Xi record "deep transformation of international architecture" and they consider that these historical trends are irreversible, as they are witnessing an “acceleration of the process of establishing a multipolar international order of things, strengthening the positions of countries with emerging markets and developing states, an increase in the number of regional powers, which exert an influence on planetary processes and demonstrate a desire to defend their legitimate national interests”.

Russia and China denounce hegemony and the attempt to substitute the generally accepted principles and rules of international law and call on all countries to “promote such generally accepted human values as peace, development, equality, justice, democracy and the freedom, to choose and not start confrontations, to apply the comprehensive and not the exclusionary approach, to coexist peacefully, to implement mutually beneficial cooperation, to mobilize the peaceful development of the world».

Russia and China also state that they intend to "provide resolute mutual support in matters of defending each other's core interests, primarily sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and development", promote mutually beneficial cooperation and historical rapprochement of their peoples, "to promote the multipolar order of things, economic globalization and the democratization of international relations, to contribute to the development of planetary management on a fairer and more rational basis".

Obviously referring to the West and especially the USA, Russia and China note that each country has its own peculiarities and traditions, "there is no such thing as a "supreme democracy", because’ this is why they oppose the creation of a “false narrative about the so-called confrontation between democracies and autocracies”, against the “involvement of foreign powers in internal affairs”, against “the use of democracy and freedom as an occasion and political tool for putting pressure on other states, at a time when "different cultures and countries must respect and accept each other".

Moscow and Beijing declare that they will continue their joint military exercises and cooperation, they will increase their energy cooperation in all fields and in general economic, investment, cultural, educational etc. relations with a vision of a Great, Eurasian partnership.

The two countries express their support for the international system with a central role in the UN and oppose “any form of hegemony, unilateral approaches and power politics, the logic of the 'cold war', the confrontation of the camps and of the creation of 'narrow schemes', directed against specific countries».

Moscow and Beijing state that they are concerned by "serious challenges in the sphere of international security" and they have as their starting point that "the destinies of the peoples of all countries are interconnected, no state should guarantee its security at the expense of the security of other states", because’ this and they will work for peaceful coexistence, underlining that "conflicts should be avoided to the maximum extent between the permanent members of the UN Security Council, which have a special responsibility for supporting peace and global stability".

< p> The two countries condemn terrorism, but also "double standards in the fight against terrorism and extremism", as well as attempts "to use terrorist and extremist groups for geopolitical goals".

< p>What stands out here is the mention of the two in favor of "conducting an objective, impartial, professional investigation of the explosions in the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines", but also the commitment to bilateral cooperation to strengthen the influence of international organizations such as Shanghai, the BRICS, the G20 , condemning at the same time "the politicization of multilateral organizations".

Repeating the relevant statement of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, the two countries declare that "a nuclear war can have no winners, and must never break out", because’ this and the deterioration of relations between the nuclear powers, which must "must not deploy nuclear weapons outside their borders and must withdraw all nuclear weapons they have deployed abroad".

Russia and China condemned the American initiative to create AUKUS between the USA, Britain and Australia and called on those involved to adhere to the principle of nuclear non-proliferation, while also noting their adherence to the “one China” policy. At the same time, they expressed concern about Japan's pursuit of getting rid of another load of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant and called on the US to explain its “biological military activity on its soil and outside its borders”. but also not to have any biological activity, which conflicts with the Treaty on the Prohibition of Bacteriological, Biological and Toxin Weapons.

Russia stated that it positively assesses China's “objective and impartial position on the Ukrainian issue”, but also its intention to be a mediator in the Ukrainian issue and stands with China against “any state and its alliances with the aim of obtaining military, political and other privileges to strike a blow at the legitimate interests of other countries in security sector'.

"For the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis [s.s. as the war conflict is referred to in the text] it is necessary to respect the legitimate concerns of all countries in the field of security and to prevent the formation of confrontational camps, to stop the actions that contribute to further fueling the conflict, Russia and China estimate, which call for “an end to all steps that contribute to the escalation of tension and the prolongation of hostilities, to avoid further worsening of the crisis until its evolution into an uncontrollable phase”. They also condemn all "unilateral sanctions, which have been implemented bypassing the UN Security Council".

Referring specifically to NATO, Russia and China called on it to "respect the sovereignty, security and interests of other states" them», but also to strictly observe the obligations »relating to the regional and defense nature of the organization in question»
