Weak high pressure affects the area. Initially, the weather today will be mainly clear with some locally increased cloudiness on the coasts. Gradually, however, it will become partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy with isolated rains, mainly in the mountains but also in the western areas of the island. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The winds will initially blow north-west to north-east, weak, 3 Beaufort, to soon become mostly north-east to south-east and in the afternoon on the west coast to south-west, of the same intensity. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly clear, however, later, mainly on the west and east coasts, there will be temporarily increased clouds that may give isolated light rain. A local thin mist or fog may form later. Winds will be northwest to northeast and locally to southeast, light 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 7 degrees in the interior, around 10 on the coasts and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where locally frost is expected to form.
On Friday, there will be temporarily increased clouds in places which isolated rain may occur, initially on the coast and later in the mountains. Light snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The weather will gradually become clear until the early afternoon.
On Saturday the weather will be mainly clear with locally increased clouds that will be observed at intervals. On New Year's Day the weather will be mostly clear, however initially, temporarily increased cloudiness will be observed in places.
