The defense of the British defendant for the murder of his wife is very close to an agreement > Janice Hunter in Tremithoussa last December. David Hunter faces a charge of first degree murderbut he seems willing to change his answer from not admitting to admitting on the condition that he will now be charged with homicide.

  •  Answers from histopathological tests on the way the 75-year-old woman was killed in Tremithousa

His advocates in a previous trial had requested and received a postponement of a few weeks with the aim of reaching an agreement with the prosecution in order to vary the indictment and also the answer of their client. The defense received the previous trial, in October, from the prosecution the facts of the case and handed over to the prosecution a medical opinion regarding the incurable disease from which Janice suffered.

Both sides believe that there is ground for agreement in order to withdraw the charge of premeditated murder and for the Briton to plead guilty to the charge of homicide. The case has been set for today and during the previous period the two sides discussed details on how to formulate the facts.

According to the defendant's own admission both to the Police and to his brother, he murdered his wife since he could not watch her suffer in the terminal stage of leukemia. He then unsuccessfully tried to end his life.
