Record passenger traffic at Larnaca-Paphos airports. 6.6 million traveled to and from Cyprus in 7 months

    At 6.6 million passengers who traveled to and from Cyprus in the first seven months – In June, a total of 1.3 million passengers traveled, recording an increase of 105% compared to the corresponding month in 2023

    Total 6.6 million passengers traveled to and from airports of Cyprus, from January to July, while based on data from Hermes Airports, passenger traffic in August is expected to exceed 1.5 million persons.

    KYPE information from Hermes Airports indicates that this year in June, a total of 1.3 million passengers (arrivals and departures), to and from Larnaca and Paphos airports, recording an increase of 105% compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

    In particular, more than 895 thousand passengers traveled to and from Larnaca airport, while more than 404 thousand people traveled to and from Paphos.

    As for July, approximately 1.5 million passengers (arrivals and departures) traveled from the two airports, an increase of 1% compared to July 2023.

    Specifically, to and from the airport Larnaca traveled over one million passengers, while over 430 thousand people traveled to and from Paphos.

    As regards August, the month in which the most arrivals and departures are traditionally recorded, according to Hermes Airports data, passenger traffic is expected to exceed 1.5 million total passengers (arrivals and departures), a number that fluctuates approximately at the same levels as in August 2023.

    In terms of connectivity, this August 55 airlines serve Cyprus, with 156 routes in 38 countries.

    In writing Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication of Hermes Airports, said in a statement that “although this year started with several external challenges as a result of various technical issues that continue to affect airlines, our efforts to improve the situation paid off , as already recorded in the performance of Cypriot airports”.

    Specifically, he notes, “from the beginning of the year until July, the longest passenger traffic through Larnaca and Paphos airports was recorded strong> as a total of 6.6 million passengers traveled out of them. We hope that the positive image of passenger traffic will continue, so that 2024 will be a new milestone for Cypriot tourism”.
