>The number of Greek Cypriots who went to the occupied territories decreased, while the number of Turkish Cypriots who went to the free areas increased during the first seven months of 2024, according to data from the “Ministry of Tourism”, writes the online “Gyginik”.< /p>

According to the Press and Information Office, the publication writes that during the period January-July, the total number of roadblock crossings was 4 million 446 thousand 366, while 1 million 680 thousand 266 of these crossings concern Greek Cypriots and 1 million 632 thousand 488 Turkish Cypriots, the remaining 1 million 133 thousand 582 concern people from third countries.

According to the publication, the number of Greek Cypriot arrivals decreased by 48,015 and the number of arrivals from third countries by 73,779.

The newspaper also writes that according to the data of the “Ministry of Tourism”, during the period January-July (excluding Greek Cypriots), holders of United Kingdom (UK) passports lead the way in crossings.

Compared to last year, the British are still in second place with 149,782. When 26 thousand 164 Turkish Cypriot British passport holders are added to this number, the number increases even more.

Greece ranks third among the top 12 countries and regions, followed by from Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Russia, Israel, Slovakia and France.
