A total of 22 reports of possible adverse reactions were received during the first month of the licensed vaccines for COVID-19 (26/12 / 2020-26 / 01/2021), the Department of Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Trials of the Pharmaceutical Services, Ministry of Health.
As mentioned, 82% of the reports were submitted by health professionals and 18% by the patients themselves or their relatives.
41% of the reports are about uncommon side effects and 59% are common side effects. In all adverse reactions, no incident caused death or hospitalization / extension of hospitalization, or was life-threatening to the patient, or caused disability or disability . All cases were transient or treated with patient relief .
At the same time, the Pharmaceutical Services inform that the service of electronic submission of side effects from the vaccination has been put into operation from the website www.kitrinikarta.gov.cy.
The Yellow Card is the system of the Republic of Cyprus for the reporting of possible side effects on medicinal products managed by the Pharmaceutical Services and circulating in the Republic of Cyprus.
The Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Trials Department of the Pharmaceutical Services calls on health professionals and patients to be vigilant and assess for possible symptoms of medicines they are receiving, and to inform the competent Authorities for further investigation.
