Returning Pampos Charalambous to the bosom of British Labor – He had been suspended from the party and out of the Labor parliamentary group last June

In removing the availability of the Cypriot MP for North London Pambus Charalambous proceeded the Labor Party in the United Kingdom.

The 56-year-old Member of Parliament for the Enfield Southgate constituency, with a large Cypriot community, was suspended from the party and out of the Labor parliamentary group last June after an unspecified complaint was made against him about his conduct.

After a ten-month investigation under the rules of the Labor Party complaints procedure, led by an independent lawyer, the complaint was dismissed as unfounded.

Mr Charalambous is now back as a member of the main opposition party and in parliament team in time for the upcoming elections.

Mr Charalambous said he was “happy” at the outcome of the investigation and “grateful” that the independent commission had cleared his name. He noted that during this difficult period as an independent MP he continued to focus on serving the constituents of his constituency and that he will now continue to do so again as a Labor MP.

CYPE is in a position to know that from the beginning the British Cypriot MP had denied the charge against him, but as he had said at the time of the complaint, it was right for the control process to be carried out by his party.
