Today's meeting of the party leaders in the Parliament will discuss the complaint made on the 11th of the month to the Speaker of the Parliament and the Auditor General by the three deputies of the Democratic Forces Cooperation Marinos Mousiouttas, Angelos Votsis and Georgios Prokopiou. The reason was the decision taken by the party leaders, based on which the entire amount of the state sponsorship corresponding to the year 2021 was paid to the parties at the beginning of the month, despite the fact that in three months we will have parliamentary elections and the current data is expected. to change drastically. Apart from the fact that the percentages of the parties on the basis of which the state sponsorship is distributed will fluctuate, at least one new party is expected to succeed in entering the Parliament. As the three deputies state in their letter, “we note that as 'Cooperation of Democratic Forces' due to the political and electoral cooperation with the Democratic Party in the upcoming parliamentary elections we would have the right to participate in the state sponsorship”. However, the state sponsorship for 2021 totaling € 7 million has already been distributed to the existing parliamentary parties.
