The Department of Electromechanical Services informs the consumer public that it has identify the following products on the market which do not comply with essential safety requirements and are therefore withdrawn from the market.
1. LED wall lamp – SPOTLIGHT /5680
(No. ΕΑΗ-2021-29/03-2022)
The product does not comply with the essential safety requirements of the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (LVD) Directive, as it entails substantial safety hazards for the user. As a result, the distributor has voluntarily withdrawn from the market.

2. Exterior wall lamp – DIMCO /62100
(No. ΕΑΗ-2021-36/03-2022)
The product does not comply with the essential safety requirements of the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (LVD) Directive, as it involves substantial safety hazards for the user. In addition, it is not accompanied by the required EU declaration of conformity. As a result, the manufacturer has voluntarily withdrawn from the market.

Consumers who are in possession of any of the above products are encouraged not to use them and to return them immediately to the seller, ie to the store from which they have purchased them.
It is noted that, according to the Consumer Protection Law of 2021, in case of purchase of an unsafe product, the consumer is entitled to replace the product, so that the product complies with the terms of the contract of sale. If this is not possible, then the consumer is entitled to withdraw, ie to return the product to the seller and get back the full amount paid. It is reminded that the above rights are valid for a period of 2 years from the initial delivery of the product to the consumer and that the sole responsibility for the consumer always lies with the final seller.
In case the seller refuses to comply with the most Consumer Protection, the consumer is invited to submit a written complaint through the website of the Consumer Protection Service (www.consumer.gov.cy).
