Road works carried out at various points may affect traffic.
In Nicosia , from strong > Saturday 28/5/2022 and time 21:00 pm until Sunday 29/5/2022 and at 17:00 in the afternoon, there will be a partial traffic stop per lane on Archbishop Makarios Avenue in Nicosia from its junction with Ethnikis Frouras Street to its junction with Aglantzias Avenue due to horizontal marking works and asphalt paving on pedestrian crossings. At the same time, for the execution of similar works, there will be similar local traffic regulations on Digeni Akrita Avenue from its contribution to Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to its contribution to Kallipoleos Avenue. Throughout the works, the smooth traffic of all vehicles will be ensured, through the other traffic lanes of the above Avenue.
Also in Nicosia , on Sunday 29/5/2022 , between the hours of 5:00 – 12:00, at Spyros Kyprianou Avenue despite the Gavriilidis traffic lights, works will be carried out for the installation of a water supply pipeline. During the works, the section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue from the traffic lights Gavriilidis to its junction with Skopa Street in both directions, will be closed. The traffic in the direction of Engomi will be carried out through Kyriakou Matsi Avenue and in the direction of Pallouriotissa through Themistokli Dervi Street.
On the Nicosia-Limassol highway >, from Sunday, March 20, 2022 and for a period of five months , in the section of the highway from 500 meters before the exit to Ceri near the Industrial Area of Idali and for a distance of about 2 km, The works for the construction of the perimeter highway of Nicosia will continue. The traffic on the Nicosia – Limassol highway in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia and from Nicosia to Limassol, will be carried out in 2 traffic lanes in each direction and the lanes will be shifted to the east side of the existing highway. The traffic from the exit of the industrial Idali to the bypass of Tseri will be unimpeded, while the traffic from the bypass of Tseri to Nicosia through the highway will be closed. The traffic from the bypass of Tseri to Nicosia, will be carried out through the old road Nicosia – Limassol from the photo-controlled contribution of JCC. It is noted that the above arrangement will last for a period of about 5 months.
On the Nicosia-Limassol highway , from Wednesday, April 14, 2021 Improvement works will be carried out at the Kornos junction. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the highway, for entering the highway from Korno/Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/Pyrga to Limassol.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway , at the Kornos Junction , from Wednesday, April 13, 2022 and for period of two (2) months , works will be carried out to extend an existing bridge to improve the entrance to the highway from Korno to Nicosia. During the works, the left lane of the highway before the exit of Kornos on the Motorway in the direction of Nicosia will be closed for about 500 meters and the traffic to Nicosia will be channeled to the right lane. The left lane will be used as an entrance lane from Korno to Nicosia. At the same time, the passage under the bridge will be closed and drivers from Nicosia to Korno are required to use the next exit to Kofinou.
Works at Nicosia-Limassol highway , will be carried out during the period 9/5/2022 – 31/10/2022 , except weekends, for the installation of emergency doors on the main island of the highway from the Alhambra to the Germasogeia at twenty (20) points. During the works, the right lanes to Limassol and Nicosia will be closed in sections 100m long. approximately at each point and the traffic will take place in the adjacent traffic lanes.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway , on Saturday 4/6/2022 , between the hours of 6:00 – 16:00, on the main island of the highway, at Skarinou – Mouttagiakas section, grass cutting and collection of junk items will be carried out by a private company. During the works, the expressway will be partially closed in the direction to Limassol , in a length of 500m. The traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to Petra tou Romiou, in the period 30/5/2022 – 29/6/2022 , except weekends, between the hours 08:00 – 15:00, works will be carried out for watering plantations inside the central islet, as well as on the slopes of the road, by the Department of Forests . During the works, the right-hand lane in will be partially closeddirection from Limassol to Paphos in length 1000m. The traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
At the Rizoelias ”roundabout in Larnaca, between April 27 and June 10, 2022 strong>Replacement works of the shrouds will be carried out on the bridges of the junction. During the works, partial closure of the traffic lanes on the Larnaca – Ayia Napa and Larnaca – Nicosia Highways from both directions, as well as in the lanes of the Rizoelia Roundabout will be carried out. Traffic will be unimpeded during the works. During the period 30/5/2022 – 3/6/2022 , for the replacement works of the grout covers on the bridges of the Rizoelia roundabout, in Larnaca, the traffic arrangement will be done in two phases. In the first phase the inner traffic lane will be closed and in the second phase the outer traffic lane of the roundabout. Appropriate signage will be placed from all four directions of the Larnaca – Nicosia and Larnaca – Ayia Napa highways that pass through the roundabout. The traffic will be channeled smoothly in the adjacent traffic lane. from Friday, May 27, 2022 and for a period of five (5) months , construction works will be carried out at a roundabout at its junction with Agias Marina Street. During the works, the traffic from Anthoupolis to Palaichori and vice versa will be channeled through a temporary bypass road with a length of approximately 300m. The junction of Griva Digeni Avenue with Agias Marina Street will be closed and drivers from Palaichori to Deftera are encouraged to use the previous exit to Anagyia – Pano Deftera.
In Limassol , on Sunday 29/5/2022 , between the hours of 06:00 – 16:00, in a section of Paphos Street from its junction with Miltonos Street until the junction with Dimokratias Street, road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, one 100m long traffic lane will be partially closed. traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In Limassol, specifically in Germasogeia , at the junction of Christaki Kranou Street with Daidalides, in the period 21/2/2022 – 13/8/2022 , construction works of a roundabout will be carried out.
Also in Germasogeia , the works for the Project “Improvement of the Bypass Road of Germasogeia, Phase AD”, continue normally. In the context of the next phases of the project, the period 19/5/2022 to 30/6/2022, Daidalou Street in its southern part, Apollonia Street from its junction with Daidalou Street to Potamias Street, as well as Potamias Street from its junction with Apollonias Street to its junction with Psaron and Agiou Georgiou Streets, will remain closed. During the works, the traffic on Potamias Street will be diverted through Agiou Georgiou and Mouttagiakas streets.
In the Limassol district , in the Community of Agios Tychonas > Will be held from Wednesday 9 March 2022 and for a period of three months , construction works of a sewerage system on Grigori Afxentiou and Danias streets. The works will be carried out gradually in sections of 150 meters long Grigori Afxentiou Street. In the first phase, from Wednesday, March 9, 2022, to Thursday, March 31, 2022, the passage of vehicles to and from Aesopou Street (Armenochoriou Street) will take place through Ikarou Street.
Also in the Limassol province , in Ypsonas , in sections of Ilias Kannaourou Avenue, between
of Ymittou and I. Psychari streets, from 28/4/2022 to 3/6/2022 , will be carried out by a private contractor company, excavation and installation of cables by the A.H.K. .. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed in a length of 70m. approximately and traffic management will be alternated with temporary traffic lights. It is noted that in some
sections work will be carried out, maintaining two lanes with two-way traffic.
In the mountains of Limassol , on the road Pano Platron – Trooditissa , during the period 17/5/2022 – 8/6/2022 , works will be carried out construction of a retaining wall by a private contractor. During the works, one 100m long lane will be closed. The traffic will be managed alternately with the operation of a mobile traffic light system.
On the Limassol-Agros road , despite Gerasa, from Wednesday 27/04/2022 to Wednesday 15/06/2022 , a Private Contracting Company will carry out construction works of a retaining wall with integrated mesh for Rock retention. During the works, the 100m long lane to Limassol will be closed. and traffic will be managed alternately with the operation of a mobile traffic light system.
In Paphos, in the area Geroskipou , from Tuesday 5 April 2022 , until Monday 6 March 2023 , the Connecting Road B6 – A6 (Limassol – Paphos), will be closed for traffic, due to construction works of a roundabout on Kinyra Street in Geroskipou. During the works, drivers and pedestrians will be able to use a temporary bypass road built for this purpose.
On the old Paphos-Limassol road , from the period 7/2/2022 – 7/9/2022 (for 7 months), at the junction of Ippokratous Street with the old road Paphos – Limassol (Makarios GD Avenue), in the Municipality of Geroskipou , road improvement works will be carried out by the Paphos Department of Public Works. During the works, the roads will remain open and the traffic to/from Geroskipou will operate according to the temporary road sign.
On the old Limassol-Nicosia road , during the period 2/5/2022 – 3/6/2022 , every day except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 16:00, construction works of water pipes will be carried out by the Department of Water Development . During the works, a section of the Old Nicosia – Limassol Road, within the Skarinou Area , approximately 400m long, will be partially closed and traffic will be regulated with traffic lights.
Also on the old road Nicosia-Limassol, the eastern road that connects the road with the port of Vasilikos will be closed for traffic in the period 23/4/2022 – 23/10/2022 , within the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Center. During the works, all traffic from and to Vasiliko will be diverted to the respective west road, through the Marie Community. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians, in adjacent roads and houses will be done with the appropriate local arrangements.
