The Municipality of Nicosia informs the public that, in the framework of the project of the renovation of the Commercial Triangle Makarios – Stasikratos – Evagorou – Phase B 'from Saturday, January 22, 2022 until Tuesday, January 25, 2022, construction works will be carried out at the junction of Homer Avenue – Anastasiou G. Leventi – Solomou Square. Then, with the completion of the works in the specific contribution, the construction works in Anastasiou G. Leventi Street will follow.
More specifically, from Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 6.00 p.m. until Sunday, January 23 at 6.00 p.m. at the latest, the two northern lanes of Homer Avenue will remain closed to traffic (bicycles & vehicles). From the southern lane of Homer Avenue, both the straight course and the clockwise movement towards Anastasiou G. Leventi Street will be allowed, as well as the counterclockwise movement towards the old town. During this period, the entrance of the buses to the station of Solomos Square will be closed (left turn from Homer Avenue). Regarding the itineraries and the bus stops, relevant announcements will be made.
From Monday, January 24, 2022 at 6.00 p.m. until Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 6.00 p.m. at the latest, one southern lane of Homer Avenue will remain closed to traffic. From the other two lanes that will remain open, the straight course will be allowed, as well as the clockwise movement towards Anastasiou G. Leventi Street and the counterclockwise movement towards the old town. During this period, buses will be allowed to enter the station of Solomos Square.
With the completion of the above works at the junction of Homer – Anastasiou G. Leventi – Solomou Square, construction works will begin on Anastasiou G. Leventi Street. The road will remain closed for traffic from Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 8.30 p.m. for a period of about 5 months.
Drivers are urged to be careful and follow traffic signals.
It should be noted that, in case the weather conditions do not allow the specific planning, the works will be postponed and a new announcement will be issued.
