The Russian Ministry of Defense seems to be in a financial shock amid the war in Ukraine, while at the same time the country's heavy military armaments are in need of fundamental modernization.< /p>

The Russian President is asked to pay for the expensive tastes of his former “faithful” partners.

As reported in the international press, in the previous period, millions of rubles were made “wings” and they flew to the south and more specifically to Cyprus , to buy luxury yachts.

Vladimir Putin has chosen to inaugurate his fifth consecutive term by removing and replacing associates in key positions, in an attempt to replace his prestige with his sworn enemies, but also to boost the morale of his supporters.

During the process of “clearing” of senior officers, his main ally from the Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, was also removed.

Followed by the head of the personnel directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Yuri Kuznetsov after the seizure of more than 100 million rubles and gold coins from his residences.

The arrest of the two brought to light an unprecedented streak of corruption spanning years that has essentially drained the ministry's budget and undermined Putin's efforts to modernize his military.

Former Foreign Minister Andrei Korizev, who served under Boris Yeltsin, wrote in X: “The Kremlin has spent the last 20 years trying to modernize its military. Much of this budget was stolen and spent on large yachts in Cyprus. But as a military adviser, how do you report something like that to the President, you prefer to lie.”
