“We would like to express our regret for the posting of the Secretary General of POED, on Social Media and his public posting on his personal profile, regarding our proposal in the context of a dialogue to extend the training period, as a measure to address teachers. “due to a pandemic,” the Confederation said in a statement.

It raises the questions “since when is a proposal for dialogue rejected without any discussion?” And by whom can the proposal be rejected?

The Confederation adds that the organized parents seek to have the best cooperation with the teachers' unions by facing together and supporting for the most part any of their proposals.

Stating that the organized parents, recognized and cited to the Ministry of Education the problems that exist with the staffing of schools in times of pandemic, express the position that this and other consequences of the pandemic, result in loss of valuable educational time and negatively affect the quality of children's learning both for those who are in the classroom but also for the children who are quarantined either as a contact or as a case and stay home.

As organized parents, he adds, “we ask for the obvious, we ask our children not to have learning gaps and to be provided with the necessary knowledge and skills that will accompany them for the rest of their lives.”

The Confederation calls on “the leadership of POED, to decide whether it shares and adopts this view.”
