Focused on Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG), NYSE-listed SAFE BULKERS Inc. and its CEO, Polys V. Chatzioannou, announce the 4th annual scholarship program for the academic year 2024-2025.
The program concerns ten (10) scholarships for studies in university institutions abroad (Greece, United Kingdom, etc.), amounts 10,000 Euro each, for Cypriot citizens or Greek citizens settled in Cyprus, who seek their professional rehabilitation in the Shipping industry. The scholarships will be awarded according to the scholars' academic performance and social criteria and concern students who have graduated from Educational Institutions in Cyprus, as well as students who are already studying abroad.
Specifically the scholarships are related to undergraduate or postgraduate master studies (Master) abroad in the disciplines:
– MECHANICAL ENGINEERS/ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS
– ELECTRONIC ENGINEERS/COMPUTER ENGINEERS/AUTOMATION
– COMPUTER SCIENCE/CYBER SECURITY
– SHIPPING LAW (MARITIME LAW)
MINIMUM ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
High School Graduates: Certificate of acceptance from respective University. The grades of the Cypriot high school diploma (min 18.0) or A-levels in Mathematics or Physics (min B) will be taken into account. UK Students: Year average above 60% or 2.1. Polytechnic students of Greece: Average year over 6.5. Postgraduate studies Master (M.Sc.) in the United Kingdom: Hellenic Polytechnic Degree 7.5 or University of the United Kingdom 2.1. Students of other universities abroad: Year average above “Very Good”
