A very important victory for Othellos who won at home (2-1) by upsetting Ethnikos
No matter what everything looked like we would have the same work in progress? Souto had a different opinion and with his own goal in the last stages of the match, Othellos overturned the facts against him by beating Ethnikos at home 2-1.
The visitors, even though they were playing with less than 12 players, due to Lomotei's suspension, managed to open the scoring with De Iriodo in the 20th minute. Nevertheless, the team of Athionane overturned the data against them with goals from Kastana (45+3') and Souto (85').
With the turn the match took, it was largely reminiscent first round, where again the visitors played for over an hour with one man less, while also opening the scoring.
However, that game ended in a 1-1 draw, which would happen again tonight.. .if Suto didn't “beat” Markovic with a powerful header!
After this result, Othellos was at least temporarily out of the relegation zone, counting 12 points. Ethnikis has one more, which remained in tenth place.
First Half
“Full” was the first part in “Ammochostos”, after we had a dismissal, two goals and some very remarkable phases. Taking things from the beginning, it is noted that Othellos entered the game better and up to the 5th minute recorded two finals, in misguided attempts by Popescu and Sangare.
In the 12th Ethnikos was left with a player less due to a direct red card to Lomotei. After the intervention of the VAR, the referee showed the agousa in the dressing room to the visiting player for stopping Anang who was going alone against Markovic.
In the very next phase Weslati threatened with a very good free kick, sending the ball just wide.
Subsequently, the refugee union closed the areas well, while being dangerous in counterattacks. In fact, in the 20th minute it was he who opened the scoring with De Iriodo's header, after a Pehlivanis corner kick. Panagiotou's exit was a mistake.
Marinos Satsia's team threatened again with a misdirected shot by Drazic in the 29th minute, while Panagiotou blocked Lipski's powerful shot in the 35th minute.
From that point on, the Athianou team turned up the heat, trying to convert their possession into goals.
In the 40th minute, Nardini's shot was missed in the area, while in the 41st minute, Markovic kicked a corner following a diagonal shot by Stamoulis. The keeper of the visitors had an answer to the strong shot of Zelos, however, in the 45+3' he was unable to stop the danger, with Kastanas equalizing.
After a corner kick, the Cypriot footballer took advantage of the oligarchy in defense, scoring from close range.
1-1 was the score of the first half.
Second Half
The scene was the same in the first minutes of the replay, with Othellos excelling in possession of the ball, looking for empty spaces and Ethnikos choosing – willingly or not – a counter-attacking game.
The first final was scored in the 51st minute. with a missed shot by Popescu from the height of the large area, followed by a bad shot by Dražić, for the first final of the National team.
In the 56th minute, the home team missed a great opportunity to take the lead, after Popescu sent the ball over the posts, unmarked in the small area. The filming was done by Zelou.
Almost ten minutes later, the Skazni team “touched” the goal again with Stamoulis, who made the spot-kick inside the area, but Markovic, although he seemed defeated, finally saved with his feet.
Then the game took a very fast pace due to the fact that Othellos took the risk of playing with two forwards and fewer players in the half. header, after a corner kick, caught a misplaced header unperturbed.
The last ten minutes belonged exclusively to Othello. Initially, in the 78th minute, a terrible period of time was recorded with Popescu, Shangare and Souto unable to score from close range, while in the 80th minute, Weslati hit the crossbar of Markovic.
However, the pressure of the Skazni team was to bear fruit in the 85th minute when Souto made it 2-1 with a powerful header inside the box. The Croatian forward turned out to be a golden change.
Ethnikos tried to equalize again in the remaining minutes, but to no avail.
