A press conference was organized today, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping regarding the start of the third operating period of the Cyprus-Greece Maritime Passenger Connection.

As mentioned in her speech by the Deputy Minister of Shipping Ms. Marina Hatzimanoli, the Deputy Ministry of Shipping attached and attaches great importance to the re-opening of the Cyprus-Greece sea passenger connection, which two years ago, became a reality and which was embraced by the passenger public with enormous success, exceeding all desired expectations. During last year's period, 7407 passengers and 455 pets traveled, while 2496 accompanying vehicles were transported. The Deputy Minister emphasized that “from these numbers, it appears that the sea passenger connection has achieved its purpose, creating a new segment of the tourist market for those travelers who wish to travel to and from Cyprus and the rest of continental Europe, with their private cars and two-wheelers, offering an alternative mode of transport, which for more than 2 decades did not exist”.
