The Director of Prosthetic and Orthotic rehabilitation of the famous Shriners Hospitals Mathew Brock McConkey, traveled within the last 4 months for the second time to Cyprus, to offer high level care to children who the need to apply prosthetic limbs, splints and other orthopedic rehabilitation aids was decided.
More specifically, the visit took place within the framework of the cooperation of the Georgiou Foundation & Thelmas Paraskevaidis with the US Shriners Hospitals from Monday 4/24/23 until Thursday 4/27/2023, to apply the necessary aids to 33 children from Cyprus, Lebanon and Syria. The application was made in the specially designed area of the Paraskevaidis Foundation with the help of a Cypriot specialist.
The orthopedic doctors of the Shriners Hospital, thanks to the George and Thelmas Paraskevaidis Foundation, in the 40 years of this collaboration with them, have examined up to today more than 16,000 children and more than 4,000 children have been sent to America for further tests, surgeries and hospitalization.
