Several European countries are on a path of easing measures against coronavirus

European countries are on a path of easing measures as vaccinations continue and the distribution of coronavirus pills expands. Measures to stop the Omicron mutation are being phased out, but countries such as Germany have insisted that measures be taken to ensure that the coronavirus remains on the rise. But what citizens and governments expect is for the pandemic to become endemic .

In a few hours life in Italy and Spain changes in some way. As of tomorrow, in Italy, the mandatory use of the protective mask in open spaces ceases to apply . Citizens should wear it only in case of crowds.

The use of the mask indoors remains valid until March 31 . The government of Mario Draghi will then decide whether the measure should be extended, depending on the spread of the coronavirus.

From tomorrow , discos and clubs will open again . Access will only be granted to those citizens who have received at least two doses of vaccine or who have been treated for coronavirus. At the same time, at the dance floor – where one can take off the mask – it should be possible to keep a distance of at least two meters between the customers.

Spain has lifted the ban on mask use outdoors as Covid-19 infections continue to fall below record levels. Masks remain mandatory at crowded outdoor gatherings, such as concerts, indoors, and public transportation, but almost all regions were the measure of a Covid certification for entering bars and nightclubs.

Sweden has lifted almost all pandemic restrictions and stopped conducting free tests for Covid-19, although pressure on healthcare systems remains high.

The Swedish government, which throughout the pandemic has chosen not to impose a lockdown by adopting a more lenient approach with recommendations to citizens, announced last week that it would lift the remaining restrictions – effectively declaring the pandemic over – as Vaccinations and the less severe Omicron variant have greatly reduced the number of cases and deaths.

Bars and restaurants will be open again after 23:00 in the evening and without restrictions on the number of customers. Admission limits for larger indoor spaces are abolished, as is the use of the vaccination pass.
