The signing of this technical arrangement strengthens the relations of the Republic of Cyprus with the neighboring country of Lebanon
Technical arrangement for cooperation on search and rescue issues was signed on Thursday, at the KSED facilities in Larnaca, between the Center for Search Coordination and Rescue (KSED) of the Republic of Cyprus and the corresponding KSED of Lebanon.
In today's announcement, the KSED Search and Rescue Coordination Center states that “the cooperation includes the providing of training programs by KSED to Lebanese personnel on search and rescue issues , the design and execution of joint search and rescue exercises, as well as the exchange of experience, know-how and common practices”.
As part of the agreement, it is added, from July 30 to 02 August 2024, KSED provided training on search and rescue items to Lebanese officers and operatives at the premises of the search and rescue training center”.
It is noted that “the signing of the said technical arrangement strengthens the relations of the Republic of Cyprus with the neighboring country of Lebanon and at the same time its efforts to become a hub for the provision of humanitarian operations in the eastern Mediterranean”.
