A technical arrangement for search and rescue cooperation was signed on Thursday, at the KSED facilities in Larnaca, between the Coordination Search and Rescue Center (KSED ) of the Republic of Cyprus and the corresponding KSED of Lebanon.
In today's announcement the KSED Search and Rescue Coordination Center states that “the cooperation includes the provision of training programs from KSED to Lebanese search and rescue personnel, the design and execution of joint search and rescue exercises, as well as the exchange of experiences, know-how and common practices.”
As part of the agreement, it is added, from 30 July to 02 August 2024, KSED provided training in search and rescue subjects to Lebanese officers and operatives at its facilities search and rescue training center”.
It is noted that “the signing of this technical arrangement strengthens the relations of the Republic of Cyprus with the neighboring country of Lebanon and at the same time its efforts to become a hub for the provision of humanitarian operations in the eastern Mediterranean”.
