Total beer sales in Cyprus plunged 43.5% or 757,151 liters in January 2021, due to restrictive measures to address the spread of the coronavirus, despite the impressive 76.5% increase in beer exports .
Specifically, according to data from the Statistical Service, total beer deliveries from factories decreased in January 2021 to 981,592 liters, compared to 1,738,743 liters in January last year, recording a dip of 43.5%.
Beer deliveries for domestic consumption in January 2021 decreased to 925,427 liters, compared to 1,706,931 liters in January 2020, showing a large decrease of 45.8%.
In contrast, beer exports in January 2021 increased to 56,165 liters compared to 31,812 liters in January 2020, recording an impressive increase of 76.5%.
