The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) received minor pressure on Tuesday, showing “endurance” in the particularly negative stock market climate that prevailed in the international stock markets after Moody's downgraded ten American banks and the imposition of a 40% tax on bank profits from the Italian Government. The General Index recorded losses of 0.85% and closed at 122.95 points.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index closed at 74.48 points, down 0.84%. The daily turnover was €450,254.

Of the individual stock market indices, only the Alternative Market closed with gains of 0.26%. In contrast, the Main Market fell 1.14%, Investment Companies lost 0.52% and Hotels fell 1.24%.

Bank of Cyprus securities attracted the most investment interest with €239,438 (down 1.33% – closing price €2.96). Followed by the shares of Hellenic Bank with €125,392 (down 2.39% – closing price €2.04), of Vasilikos Cement with €19,822 (up 0.68% – closing price €2.98), of Petrolina with €18,204 (no change – closing price €1.14) and Dimitra Investments with €11,713 (down 0.86% – closing price €0.575).

Of the shares traded, ten moved up, eight downward and three remained unchanged. The number of transactions reached 194.

In addition, the Stock Exchange announced the listing of 280,000,000 additional ordinary shares of the listed company “Yoda Plc” on the NEW Market of the CSE with a nominal value of €0.50, which were issued and granted at a price of €0.50 per share, using the method of private placement and their simultaneous entry into the Central Depository and Registry of the CSE in accordance with Articles 10(1) and (3) of the Cyprus Securities and Stock Exchange (Central Depository and Central Securities Registry) Law.

He states that the above shares will be incorporated into the already listed share capital of the company, which will amount to 1,625,811,658.

He adds that trading of the shares will begin on Friday, August 11, 2023.
