So far, the handling of the tourists in the city and province of Limes on the day of 15th of August has been going smoothly. The members of the Police have been on their feet since the morning as a special plan has been drawn up for the safe movement of citizens mainly in the mountains.
As Limassol Police Director Andreas Angelidis reported to KYPE, the operation for crime prevention and traffic offenses started early in the morning. So far no substantial problems have been reported, some issues related to traffic and delay in some parts of the road network where increased traffic was observed mainly in the mountains, have been resolved immediately by the traffic patrols and motorcyclists who were in the area. We will be on our feet until late at night so that the goals set for today can be achieved,” said Mr. Angelidis.
Mr. Angelidis said that the results of today's operation will be evaluated tomorrow by the leadership of the police department of Limassol. “The evaluation is part of the efforts made so that we can be more efficient. The goal of the Police is to have a stronger and more effective presence in the city and the province to ensure the movement of citizens and our response to the various incidents,” underlined the Police Director of Limassol.
