Something new through the municipal park in Dasoudi in Paphos

The Municipality of Paphos is creating another modern green and recreational area for young and old.

Today, the Mayor of the city, Faidonas Faidonos, signed with the contractor D. Kouppis & Sons Construction Co Ltd the contract for the execution of the project “Improvement-Landscaping in the Municipal Park of Heroes E.O.K.A. 1955-1959 (Dasoudi) »amounting to € 230,000 plus VAT. Work began immediately and will be completed within the next two and a half months.

Speaking at the signing of the Contract, the Mayor of Paphos noted that this area is one of the most historic places in the city and is probably the oldest and largest park that Paphos had. It was built in 1991 and today, 30 years later, it is being substantially renovated.

As part of the project, Mr. Faidonos explained, a modern playground will be created, a garden with aromatic plants, 70 new trees will be planted, an amphitheater will be built and the parking lot will be completely reconstructed, new lighting fixtures and benches will be installed, all illegal additions will be removed and the cafeteria will be renovated, fencing and flooring will be done, while there is also a proposal from our fellow artist for the creation and placement next to the Monument of Heroes E.O.K.A. 1955-'59 of a new sculpture.
