Spoliaric leaves after 11 years, bitter with the people

Milenko Spoliaric announced his decision to terminate his cooperation with PrimeTel after 11 years in a written statement.

The reason, according to him, is that “respect for human values has been largely lost”, with Spoliaric stressing that most people in Cyprus have learned to judge with their supporters' feelings and find it difficult to accept the opposite view.

In detail, what Spoliaric mentions:

Through this letter, I would like to inform the football fans about the difficult decision I made, not to continue the long-term cooperation I had with PrimeTel, for commenting on football matches.

A big cycle, which started in the summer of 2010 and lasted 11 whole years has finally closed for me. All these years, I tried to convey to the world my football views, without being influenced by anyone, always respecting the fans of Cyprus.

Unfortunately, most people in Cyprus have learned to judge with their supporters' feelings and find it difficult to accept the opposite view. You can perceive this as a point, because of the pathological love that everyone has for their teams.

However, respect for human values was largely lost, something that bothers me more than anything else, so I decided not to comment on games on TV again, even though it was something I liked and was happy to do.

I will definitely miss the company we made with Kostas, Onisiforos and on this occasion I would like to thank both PrimeTel and all the children for the cooperation we have had over the years. I wish everyone the best.

Special thanks, however, I would like to give to my very good friend, Costas Papadopoulos, who gave me the opportunity in 2007 (when our collaboration started on another channel), trusted me and supported me in everything.

Yours sincerely
Milenko Spoliaric
