Suspension of the strike measures that had been announced for February 15, the General Assembly of the workers at the Histopathology Laboratory of the Nicosia General Hospital decided< /strong>, after the information they received from OKYpY.
Last week, the members of the Hospital Laboratories branches of PASYDY, PEO and SEK had unanimously decided to hold a 24-hour strike on February 15, due to the many and serious risks to which they are exposed in their workplace.
In their announcement, the trade unions PASYDY, PEO, SEC, state that at the general assembly of workers, held on Tuesday, the workers evaluated the situation as it developed after the written information they received from OKYpY.
In a written intervention, OKYpY informed that it is proceeding with a technical study with an implementation schedule within a week, but also with the assessment of the existing situation and the finding of short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions, for which the employees will be informed within 2 weeks .
Therefore, the General Assembly of the workers unanimously decided to suspend the strike measures.
“However, we clarify that the said decision of the workers is valid for the next 2 weeks in order to give time to OKYPY to proceed with a technical study, but also to inform the employees about the actions it will take, so that any safety and health issues can be resolved, they say the unions, warning that the workers “ will not tolerate practices that discredit the trade union movement and will not allow alteration or extension of the timetables set by OKYpY in writing” in his letter.
