The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth (YPPAN), announces the opening of the Program “Summer Public Schools (TDS)” from Monday, June 20, 2022 until Friday, July 22, 2022. The purpose of the TDS is to offer learning and creative opportunities employment, especially to children from vulnerable groups.
YPPAN, taking into account the existing needs, has extended the Program of THDS with the inclusion in the institution of five more schools. A total of 54 THCs will operate, of which 36 Primary and 18 Kindergartens, covering all five provinces of Cyprus and will be attended by 4,500 children. Opening hours are from 7:45 to 13:05 or until 16:00, for those parents/guardians who have already submitted a request.
The TDS Program is offered free of charge to all children. Parents/guardians contribute only to cover the cost of feeding the children who have chosen to study in the afternoon zone of the Schools.
For the second school year, during the operation of the TDS, the offer of the learning program will continue of the Greek language to children with immigrant biographies and for this purpose 25 teachers will be employed.
The needs of the children of Special Education will be employed by 56 specialist teachers, and a number of school assistants/escorts.
