As he said, “It is clear that if Europe wants to remain defensively armored, it must consider new ways to finance defense expenditures”, while noting that Greece is one of the few countries that allocates 2% of its GDP to Defense.
Regarding Gaza, upon his arrival at the Summit in Brussels, Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed the hope “to come to concrete conclusions that will recognize the humanitarian disaster in Gaza. We insist on a ceasefire accompanied by a full release of hostages from Hamas”.
As he said “the conclusions of the summit should discourage Israel from attacking the shelf which would cause a greater humanitarian disaster. As Greece, they insist on solving the crisis through the framework of the two-state solution”.
Regarding the support of the farmers, the Prime Minister said that “we want the conclusions to reflect the need to support the farmers in the short term so that they can implement the green transition without jeopardizing their income”.
