On the one hand, DIKO seeks to set the annual fee paid by companies to the state at an amount commensurate with their size and on the other hand tries to put it on the ice for two years, due to the Russo-Ukrainian war and the continuation of the coronavirus pandemic.
Yesterday, DIKO MP Panikos Leonidou submitted a bill to the Plenary Session, proposing an amendment to the law on Companies, in order to eliminate the obligation to pay the annual company fee, amounting to € 350, by all companies and to replace it – in 2023 with fairer regulation, based on the size of the business. The proposal seeks a fairer payment of company fees. According to the rapporteur, it is intended that the companies that fall into the category of small companies have an obligation to pay an annual fee of € 100. At the same time, for the companies that fall into the category of medium and large size, the fee will continue to be € 350. In the case of companies that belong to a group of companies, the total fees payable by the specific companies can not exceed the amount of € 20 thousand, which is distributed among them and in equal parts. It is worth mentioning that the relevant fee should be paid by the companies by the end of June each year.
At the same time, it is proposed that all companies be exempted from paying the annual fee for 2021 and 2022, due to the adverse, as the DIKO MP claims, economic effects on the economy, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. It is worth noting that the annual fee of companies is paid since 2012, within the framework of fiscal consolidation measures, with the result that each year the state receives an amount of approximately € 45 million. Last December, during the debate in the Parliamentary Committee on Trade , of EDEK, DIKO and the Ecologists, which proposes the abolition of the companies fee, the Ministry of Finance had opposed the abolition, due to the budgetary implications of the pandemic and the inclusion of relevant funds in the state budget. In addition, the Legal Service had promised to forward to Parliament an opinion on the constitutionality of the proposal, as the funds to be collected this year had already been budgeted for 2022. & nbsp; & nbsp;
