On the one hand, we are trying to do something positive in view of Pentameros, on the other hand, we are putting barbed wire, said Hulusi Kilim, founding part of the Famagusta – Famagusta initiative, regarding the installation of barbed wire in the Astromeriti area. Our Turkish Cypriot compatriot, speaking to Politis 106.7 & 97.6, also said that “I am from Famagusta. “In front of my school every morning I saw barbed wire and it felt bad.” He said with regret that it is not the time for barbed wire, but to try to communicate with people on both sides, so that they come closer. “Barbed wire is easy to insert and difficult to remove,” he added.
Regarding the government's argument that the decision was not made now but for a long time and that it was not implemented in order to provoke the other side, Hulusi Kilim characteristically said that “they walk around us and play with our emotions”.
