Not returning to negotiations without recognition of sovereignty, says Tatar – Statements on Occupied-Turkey Electric Interconnection
Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriots will not return to negotiations without the acceptanceof “dominion”.
According to the Press and Information Office, “Kibris” writes that Mr. Tatar argued that “the resistance and history of the Turkish Cypriots, which lasts 453 years, gives them the right to independence.” Speaking at the awarding of medals at the “resistance road race”, organized on the occasion of the “Community Resistance Day” on August 1, he said there was no question of returning to the negotiating table without recognizing their sovereignty.

Also mentioned in resolution of the Turkish National Assembly, which argues that the only solution for the island is the existence of two states. Furthermore, he said any deal without Turkey would be unacceptable, as it would mean zero troops and zero guarantees.
Tatar reiterated that the “tdvk” must be included in any future agreement and expressed the hope that everyone understands his refusal of an agreement that would not recognize the pseudo-state.
Statements on occupied-Turkey electrical interconnection
The online “Guidem Kybris” reports that a new sea route between Kyrenia and Anemourion (Anamur) in Turkey has been launched.
According to the Press Office and Information, “Gudem Kibris” writes that in his statements about the new line and the importance of Anamur, the Turkish Cypriot leader characterized the water transfer from this area to the occupied territories as a historical project. He said that since 2015, water has been flowing into the Panagra dam, with an annual amount of 75 million cubic meters.
Mr. Tatar also referred to the need for electrical interconnection with Turkey, underlining the agreements concluded with countries of the European Union.
