Occupying leader Ersin Tatar, in a statement yesterday during a meeting with the “Association of Families of Martyrs and War Invalids”, said that the rhetoric that the federal solution in Cyprus would bring peace and equality, does not correspond to reality, since in essence, as he claimed with the “federal solution, the Turkish Cypriot side will become a patch of the Republic of Cyprus”, according to “Halkin Sesi”.

According to the Press and Information Office, claiming that the federal solution is playing games against the Turkish Cypriots since the goal is to abolish Turkey's guarantees, Mr. Tatar also said that they will never allow the Turkish Cypriots to return to the bad adventures that lived before 1974.

“We will never give up on Turkey's guarantees,” Ersin Tatar said, reiterating that the Turkish military presence on the island had brought peace and prosperity. blood on the island, is an indication of this.

He added that if one looks at the international agreements, one will realize that there are “two sovereign peoples” on the island, and said that they make every effort to accept the sovereign rights of the two “peoples”.

Accusing the Greek Cypriot side that it does not want a solution to the Cyprus problem, Tatar claimed that “some opposition circles are not telling the truth and are quick to claim that the federation will bring about equality and peace. There is no such thing. The federation to which they refer means the continuation of the Republic of Cyprus, the abolition of the TRNC, and the renaming of the Republic of Cyprus to the Federal Republic of Cyprus with a constitutional amendment. “And the Turkish Cypriots will become a patch there.”

According to the same newspaper, in his statements in the context of the memorial service for the “week of martyrs”, Tatar described as “inhumane the actions of the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo aimed at the unification of Cyprus with Greece”, claiming that the Turkish Cypriots experienced a “genocide”, as he characterized it. Nevertheless, he said, they succeeded and survived with the support provided by Turkey.

Stating that with the sacrifices of their martyrs they managed today to have “a state and to be independent and free”, Tatar reiterated that if there is any agreement in Cyprus, it must be based on the “cooperation of the two sovereign states” on the island. “In this fight, Turkey has always been by our side and will continue to be. “The most important thing is our state, our sovereignty, our independence and the further strengthening of our inseparable relations with Turkey,” he added.
