Two siblings from Kastraki Kalambakas were the twin sisters Thomi and Chrysa Plakia and their first cousin Anastasia who lost their lives in the collision between the passenger train and the commercial one in Tempi late on Tuesday night and the DNA method was needed in order to identify their bodies.

The twenty-year-olds had been studying in Thessaloniki for some time and decided to spend the three days of Halloween with their families in their place of origin. So this was to be the last carefree three days for them and their parents since no one could foresee the evil that would follow.

The twin sisters Thomi and Chrysa Plakia and their first cousin Anastasia Plakia were on board. on the fatal train and unfortunately all three lost their lives in the fatal accident.

Their parents Nikos and Dimitris Plakias, owners of the well-known tavern "Gardenia" in Kastraki, as soon as they heard the news about the accident they immediately went to Larissa where unfortunately after endless hours of agony they had to provide DNA material in order to certify that the three bodies belong to the young girls.

The two brothers are also known in the sports world of Thessaly,  as Nikos was for many years the leader and "ten" of the "Vrachos" team and Dimitris a member of the same group.
