The 24-year-old who dragged a police officer with his vehicle into custody – He has worked for the authorities in the past

A 24-year-old man from a village in Paphos District was detained last night who was wanted for the incident of injuring a police officer.

According to a representative of the Paphos Police Directorate, the officer who serves in ADE Paphos stopped for inspection, around midnight on Friday, a vehicle driven by a young man who is said to have previously worked for the authorities. The young man initially stopped but when the officer approached him to call him to get out of the car, he started his vehicle dragging the policeman. The young driver then fled in an unknown direction.

The police officer was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital where he was detained for treatment. His state of health is characterized by the treating doctors out of danger. An arrest warrant was issued against the young driver of the vehicle and he was arrested and detained on Saturday night.

Investigations into the case are continuing by the Paphos Police.
