The ministry started accepting applications electronically through the website of meci.gov.cy yesterday. According to the announcement, applications will be accepted by interested parties, only electronically, at the above address, until Tuesday, March 2, at 23:59. The amount of earnings of the unemployed has been set at € 1,000 per month, for 40 working hours per week, as will be distributed by each competent department. The unemployed who will be selected are obliged to pay contributions to the TKA as self-employed. The minimum criteria that the interested parties must meet are to be registered unemployed in the Register of Unemployed of the HRC, to have a diploma of a recognized Secondary School or a diploma, to speak very good Greek, to have a white criminal record and the male candidates to have a conscription certificate proving the completion of military service or their legal discharge.

The Ministerial decision to purchase the service was taken both in the context of the government's social goals for boosting the income of the unemployed and in view of the additional supervisory needs that will arise with the forthcoming easing of restrictions, which are expected to be announced today. The 260 unemployed, having received training on the procedure and inspections to be carried out, will assist in the controls of trade and other economic activities. According to yesterday's announcement, in case there will be more interested people who will meet the criteria than the offered positions, a draw will be held per province. The distribution, however, of the 260 unemployed per province, who as we are informed will strengthen a total of 18 state services – such as, among others, the Department of Labor Inspection, the Ministry.
