The diver who was missing since yesterday at noon in the sea area of Larnaca airport was located shortly before 11.30 in the morning, at a depth of 18 meters, the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (KSED) announced.
According to the announcement of KSED, “the missing diver was located at 11:23 in the sea area of Larnaca airport, at a depth of 18 meters and was transported to Larnaca Port, where he was delivered by ambulance to the Larnaca TAE”.
It added that “helicopters of the Air Force Police Operations Unit, the National Guard Underwater Disaster Unit with a boat and a group of divers, the Coast Guard & Navy Police with boats and a group of divers, Larnaca Provincial Administration lifeguards with boats, Larnaca Boats with boats, Of Civil Defense Research, Infantry Patrols of the Larnaca Police Directorate, Volunteer Groups with small boats and divers “.
It is recalled that the Search and Rescue Coordination Center yesterday, Saturday, August 28, around 12:40, received information regarding a 28-year-old missing diver, in the sea area near Larnaca Airport.
The KSED activated the National Search and Rescue Plan “NEARCHOS”, sending to the area aeronautics, groups of divers and infantry patrols, which conduct search operations to locate the missing.
The search was halted due to the darkness, with nothing related to the missing person being identified, however it started today with the first light of day with the participation of both aeronautical forces for surface search and divers for bottom search.
