The 32-year-old defendant was found guilty by the District Court of Limassol for the triple fatal accident that occurred on May 27, 2017, with the victims Andreas Yasemis, 32, Dimitris Savvas, also 32, and Panagiotis Stefanou, 26.
According to Philelefthero, the Court found the 32-year-old guilty on all charges, while a new date was set for the beginning of next month for the imposition of a sentence.
The same publication states that after the decision, the 32-year-old man was put on trial and will be taken to the Central Prisons, as he was released on parole until today.
It is recalled that the triple fatality occurred a few minutes after 5 am when accused driver violated a red signal at the intersection of Synergatismos and Grigoris Auxentiou streets in Pano Polemidia, killing all three passengers instantly.
The defendant, a few hours before the fatal challenge, was involved in a fight with a taxi driver. The 54-year-old taxi driver had complained that he was punched in the head by the young man, who blocked his way, because he had previously honked and tried to overtake his vehicle, which was moving at low speed.
Subsequently, the A 32-year-old man went to his home and after parking his vehicle, he started driving in the Polemidion area, with a double-cab vehicle, which was involved in the traffic accident that resulted in the death of the three men.
The District Court of Limassol had been sentenced to 6 months in prison for the beating, having been found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and insulting the taxi driver. The judicial process lasted for a long time with the case itself being considered very difficult, however the Legal Service succeeded in convicting the accused on all 14 charges.
