The Agriculture Committee of the Parliament asks for support and solving problems in the commandant villages – “There is a serious problem”

The problems faced by the 14 commandery villages and their vintners occupied an on-site visit by members of the Parliamentary Committee for Agriculture and Natural Sciences Resources, with its President, Giannakis Gabriel assuring that every effort will be made to solve them.
As Mr. Gavriil said in his statement to KYPE, “a serious problem arises, since after the two years of implementation of the measure for green harvesting, we have been informed that the Ministry of Agriculture will not proceed for 3rd year, while at the same time other problems have arisen, concerning the organization, availability and promotion of the product”.
In order to promote the product, he continued, the Committee asked a representative of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, who was present at today's meeting, such as immediate installation of command booths in the seven Christmas villages, which have already started operating for the festive period.
As a second measure, he added, “we will request an immediate meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, after a note is prepared with the five most important issues that preoccupy the commandery villages and at the same time, we will proceed to support the creation of a producer group winery, so that they can have their own benefits, like a form of mini-cooperation”.
