The issue of survival of its members is raised by the Pancyprian Association of Cinema Halls, which, according to its announcement, since the beginning of the pandemic, has sent piles of letters regarding the sanitary measures to stop the coronavirus.

“Now there is fatigue but also a need for survival,” says the Association, noting that “the encroachment and exploitation of my profession is the encroachment and exploitation of our lives.”
He adds that in the 22 months of the pandemic, the 12 film companies were shut down, 10 months were understaffed with losses, receiving “state begging support” while the lost revenues of the Sector amount to 15 million euros.
According to the Pancyprian Association of Cinema Halls, “you turned cinemas into vaccine baits, overstepped the bounds of the institutions of equal treatment and brought us to the brink of collapse.” “We puffed up with the alalum of your measures”, he concludes.
