<p>The Banker, one of the leading international publications focused on the banking and finance sector, has named Bank of Cyprus as Bank of the Year in Cyprus at its awards for 2023.</p>
<p>This award, for which the evaluation period ran from June 2022 to June 2023, is particularly significant for the Bank as it recognizes the milestones achieved in the previous year to complete the Bank's ten-year turnaround, while extending its digital offering to customers and delivering value to shareholders.</p>
<p>Declaring Bank of Cyprus Bank of the Year in Cyprus, Joy Macknight, Editor of The Banker, said:</p>
<p>“Congratulations to Bank of Cyprus for being awarded as the Bank of the Year. The bank completed its transformation into a well-capitalised, diversified and sustainably profitable banking group, marked by the European Central Bank's approval to restart dividend payments from the year 2022 profits. Additionally, as part of its ambitious digital transformation plan, Bank of Cyprus launched its innovative digital store, Quickhub, and enabled the digital integration of new customers”.</p>
<p>Commenting on the award, Panikos Nikolaou, CEO of Bank of Cyprus, said:</p>
<p>“We are delighted to have been named Bank of the Year in Cyprus by the well-known banking magazine The Banker. This award is an international recognition of the significant effort and commitment of our staff to improve the services and products we offer to our customers and support the local economy, while creating value for shareholders”.</p>
