The century-old “elder” in the new Kythreas Village was cut down because it was not taken care of

The historic century-old oak tree, known as “valania” in the occupied Neo Chorio of Kythrea, was cut down yesterday.

According to the PTO, Jenny Duzen writes today that local residents reported that the five-century-old tree was cut down due to lack of care.

The newspaper publishes photos of the damaged tree with the comment: “saying goodbye to a story”.
