On the occasion of the European Day against the Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (November 18) a High Level Discussion is being held today, November 16 in Strasbourg by the Council of Europe under the Icelandic Presidency.

Main topic of discussion: 'Towards Barnahus in ll European States? Ensuring the Rights of Every Child'' where the Barnahus Structures will be analyzed. The purpose of the event is to ensure that each Barnahus Structure that is created is fully harmonized with European Standards, legislation and policies ensuring their sustainability. During the event, successful case studies will be presented with Cyprus being among the 3 selected countries.
The President of the Voice Council, Anastasia Papadopoulou will present the admirable effort of the “The Children's Home” Foundation )” and the positive changes it has brought about on a political, social and operational level. The STP has helped 1506 children, victims of sexual abuse and violence and their families to date.
The president says “The Children's House is a framework for multi-thematic group treatment and not just a building. And in Cyprus, this framework has now been included in every pillar of dealing with sexual abuse and exploitation of children”
