UCLan Cyprus University, on February 1, 2023, had the pleasure and honor to welcome Ms. Irini Loizidou Nikolaidou, Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
Ms. Loizidou Nikolaidou presented important aspects of the Personal Data Protection legislation, within the framework of activities for the European Day of Personal Data Protection, from what personal data is to the principles of data protection.
At the event attended by students, academics and professional staff of the University of UCLan Cyprus. The presentation was an excellent opportunity for all participants to ask their questions, express their opinions and gain valuable knowledge on all aspects related to Data Protection. Attendees were also able to express their concerns on various topics related to Data Protection, including the issue of digital media dominance and how this has an interrelated relationship with personal data privacy.
The discussion with the attendees was coordinated by Professor Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of UCLan Cyprus, with an important participation by Ms. Georgia Georgiou, representative of the Personal Data Protection Officer of the University of UCLan Cyprus.
